Good News Club

Making a difference

Over 6,200 Good News Clubs are being held in public elementary schools across the USA. In Maryland, we are in over 100 schools and growing! (There are over 900 elementary schools in the state). Good News Clubs are also held in homes, community centers, day care centers, churches, apartment complexes, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission.

OUR MINISTRY

What is a Good News Club?

A Good News Club is a high-powered 90-minute program for children ages four through 13 that inspires and challenges them to good citizenship, high moral values, obedience to those in authority and other positive behaviors.

The program is built around biblical and educational principles and includes an exciting visualized Bible lesson, songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games. Dynamic methods of teaching that make learning fun are used!

Each club includes a clear presentation of the Gospel and an opportunity for children to trust Jesus as Savior. Every club also includes strong discipleship training to build character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth. All children are encouraged to attend a local church.

OUR MISSION FIELD

Can we teach it?

Yes! On June 11, 2001 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Club v. Milford Central School District that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools in the United States after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. This historic decision opened the doors of our public schools as a new mission field to teach God’s Word to thousands of children who would never hear about Jesus. What an opportunity! After School Good News Clubs meet once a week during the school year for 90 minutes. Children attend Good News Club only with their parents’ permission.

Volunteer
OUR VOLUNTEERS

Who teaches it?

Good News Clubs are led by a competent team of Christians of various ages who volunteer their time and energy to hold the club because they love children and desire that they come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and grow in Him.

We’re recruiting Bible-centered churches to begin a new ministry outreach by raising up a team of five to eight volunteers to adopt their local community school and begin a club. Volunteers are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship to lead a Good News Club that is exciting and informative so that children will want to keep coming.

All team members sign the CEF Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the policies of the organization. Adults working with the program are screened according to our Child Protection Policy.
